Sri Lanka’s Ranjan Madugalle to Oversee Upcoming Test Series between Pakistan and Bangladesh

In an exciting development for cricket fans, Ranjan Madugalle of Sri Lanka, a prominent figure on the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, has been appointed to lead the officiating teams for the much-anticipated ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 encounters between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The first Test is set to take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi from August 21 to 25, while the second match will be hosted at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi from August 30 to September 3.


The series will feature a strong umpiring contingent, with three officials drawn from the ICC Elite Panel and two from the ICC International Panel. For the Rawalpindi Test, Richard Kettleborough from England will serve as the on-field umpire, paired with South Africa’s Adrian Holdstock. Additionally, England’s Michael Gough will oversee the third umpire role, with local representative Rashid Riaz stepping in as the fourth umpire.


As the teams move to Karachi for the second Test, Michael Gough and Adrian Holdstock will continue their on-field duties, while Richard Kettleborough will once again take on the role of third umpire. Pakistani umpire Asif Yaqoob will also be present as the fourth umpire for this match, ensuring experienced oversight throughout the series. Fans of both teams can look forward to an engaging and competitive atmosphere as they celebrate the spirit of cricket.
