About

Pakistan National Cricket Team

The Pakistan national cricket team, popularly known as the Men in Green, Pakistan Cricket Team or Green Shirts, represents Pakistan in international cricket across all three formats — Test cricket, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

Governed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the team competes in major ICC tournaments including the Cricket World CupICC Champions TrophyICC T20 World Cup, and the ICC World Test Championship.

Pakistan became a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1952 and played their inaugural Test match against India at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi on October 16, 1952. Over seven decades, Pakistani cricketers have produced some of the most celebrated names in world cricket — from Hanif Mohammad and Imran Khan to Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi, and the current generation led by Mohammad RizwanBabar Azam, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Pakistan’s home grounds include the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in LahoreNational Bank Stadium in KarachiRawalpindi Cricket Stadium, and Multan Cricket Stadium. In 2025, Pakistan hosted the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 — their first ICC event in 29 years. The Pakistan Super League (PSL), the country’s premier T20 franchise tournament, directly feeds talent into the national setup.
