Peshawar Zalmi were founded in 2015 as one of the five original PSL franchises, bought by Javed Afridi’s Haier Group. They won the PSL 2 title in 2017 under West Indian captain Darren Sammy — one of the most popular winners in PSL history given Sammy’s enormous love for Pakistan.

Zalmi reached three PSL finals in four seasons (2016, 2017, 2018) — a record of consistency that only Islamabad United can rival.
