Pakistan vs Bangladesh 1st Test 2026 Day-by-Day Report

Day 1: Shanto’s Century Sets the Platform

Bangladesh recovered from 31/2 to reach 301/4 by stumps with talented Shanto reaching his century off 129 balls before tea. The third-wicket partnership between Mominul and Shanto was worth 170 runs and lasted 225 balls. Pakistan’s most effective bowler on the day was Mohammad Abbas who worked hard for his figures and kept the run rate in check. Rain did not interrupt Day 1 but heat and slow over rates stretched the session timings.

Day 2: Bangladesh Reach 413, Pakistan Fight Back

Bangladesh added 112 runs in the morning session before Abbas cleaned up the tail. Mushfiqur Rahim was the last recognised batter dismissed for 71. Abbas finished with 5/92 from 34 overs a classic Abbas performance with no pace, no drama, just relentless line and length on a surface that rewarded patience.

Pakistan’s reply started strong. Azan Awais and Imam-ul-Haq added 106 runs for the first wicket before Miraz trapped Imam-ul-Haq lbw. Pakistan ended Day 2 at 179/1 with Awais on 85.

Day 3: Awais Century, Then Pakistan Collapse to 386

Azan Awais completed his first century on Day 3 morning and reaching three figures 103 off 153 balls with 14 fours. The innings was controlled, technically correct, and exactly what Pakistan needed from an opener on a Mirpur surface.

Then as usual Pakistan team came the collapse that hurt. From 210/1, Pakistan lost four wickets for 20 runs. Shan Masood made just 9. Saud Shakeel made 0. Abdullah Fazal was the lone resistance with 60 before falling to Nahid Rana. Salman Agha and Rizwan’s 100-run sixth-wicket partnership kept Pakistan competitive, but the tail contributed little. Pakistan finished 27 behind on first innings.

Rain and wet ground interrupted the final session. Bangladesh ended Day 3 at 7/0.

Day 4: Bangladesh Build Lead, Rain Delays Again

Rain dominated Day 4. Bangladesh batted for 50.3 overs across the whole day due to multiple weather interruptions. Shanto scored 87 and Mominul made 56 their second solid partnership of the match. Bangladesh ended the day at 152/3 building a lead approaching 180 runs with wickets in hand.

Day 5: Nahid Rana Finishes the Job

Bangladesh declared at 240/9, setting Pakistan 268 in what would realistically be 60 to 70 overs. Nahid Rana was the architect of Pakistan’s destruction. The young fast bowler took 5/40, removing Shan Masood for 2, Mohammad Rizwan for 15, Noman Ali for 4, and Shaheen Shah Afridi for 0 in a devastating spell.

Abdullah Fazal top-scored with 66 and showed genuine character in a losing cause. But once he fell for 66 runs but Pakistan’s innings collapsed like a house of cards. The last seven wickets added just 44 runs. Bangladesh completed the win with overs to spare.
