Haaland’s 86th-Minute Winner Sends Norway Past Ivory Coast

How It Happened
Ivory Coast started the stronger side. Ghislain Konan hit the side-netting from a good chance in the 21st minute. Haaland had just one touch by the first water break.
Antonio Nusa broke the deadlock in the 39th minute with a curling strike into the top corner, against the run of play. Haaland had a close-range chance blocked moments later and could not convert the rebound.
Ivory Coast pushed back in the second half. Nicolas Pepe forced a save at the near post in the 55th minute. Amad Diallo, on as a substitute, cleared a goal-bound header off the line in the 67th minute to keep Norway ahead.
Eight minutes later, Amad scored at the other end. He dribbled past several defenders and finished from close range to make it 1-1 in the 75th minute.
Haaland settled it in the 86th minute. Oscar Bobb set up Sander Berge, whose cross was tapped in by Haaland for the winner. Amad almost forced extra time in stoppage time but his free-kick was kept out by goalkeeper Orjan Nyland.
