Dear Misbah,

Firstly I'd like to start by saying your a Test legend. A man that came to our rescue when three cheats had turmoiled the name of Pakistan, let alone the cricket team. People were calling for Pakistan to be expelled from International cricket. From the draw against South Africa till the white-washing of the number one Test side in the World; you have restored the pride into Pakistan cricket.

Moving onto the limited overs and where do I start? The 2007 cricket World T20 Cup, saw your return to the International fold. You was installed on the request of, then captain, Shoaib Malik. People seem to have forgot that the trust paid into you by Malik was repaid by you. You ended the tournament as Pakistan's top run-getter. Whilst the rest of the batting folded like a pack of cards, you stood tall in the final and took Pakisan perilously close against the arch-rivals. All that was ever remembered was THAT shot.

Disgraced young fast bowler Mohammad Amir, flew into Pakistan today after serving three of a six months jail term for his part in spot fixing scam in 2010.

Amir, 19, arrived at Lahore's Alama International Airport in the early hours of Sunday and was accompanied by his solicitor, Sajida Malik. The young pacer exited from a side entrance to evade the heavy presence of media; who had gathered in his await.

Later Amir, at his home in Lahore spoke to the media briefly and apologised for his part in the scam. He said "I made a mistake and I have admitted. I apologise to the nation. It was not all that it looked on TV, I will reveal all in a while". He then also revealed that a appeal to the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) was underway and he will reveal details of what happened at Lords 2010 in detail at a later date.

"Pakistan is my second team: Imrul Kayes
KheloPakistan.com are proud to present a exclusive interview with Bangladesh opening batsman Imrul Kayes. The 25 year old left-hander has represented the Tigers at all three formats. Apart frm 16 Tests, Imrul has played 48 ODI's for Bangladesh scoring nine half-centuries and one hundred. Imrul was recently axed from the national team, but today spoke to us about his career thus far; along with his burning desire to fight back his place for Bangladesh.

KheloPakistan (KP): Tell us about your early days?
Imrul Kayes (IK): I have been a cricket fan since my childhood. I was a big fan and my father inspired me. I debuted in school cricket, then represented Razshai youth cricket club. That was my platform to go further.

KP: Just only 12 months after your national cricket league debut, you was the leading run scorer for the Khulna division in 2007/08, how did that feel?
IK: It felt very good, it was my glorious time as a batsman. I scored seven centuries, two for academy, four for Khulna and one Premier league.

A superb 130 by Kevin Pietersen ensured England won the series 4-0. Pietersen was back at his ominous best as he carried on from where he left off in the third game. A wonderful partnership with firstly Craig Kieswetter (43) and then with Samit Patel made light work of the Pakistan bowling.

Skipper Alistair Cook, got out early as a LBW appeal was overturned and he made his way back for a mere 4 runs. That brought Jonathan Trott (15) to the crease and he looked at ease against the spin of Pakistan. He played early on a bowl of Ajmal and looped a catch to Hafeez. Next man in was Jos Buttler on debut but he got a inside edge and was caught for a second ball duck. With the score at 68-4 Pakistan were well on top, but Pietersen and Kieswetter had different ideas.

Earlier in the day Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first on the same surface as the third ODI. Jade Dernbach got Mohammad Hafeez early in the piece as Pakistan were reduced to 1-1 in 1.1 overs. That brought Asad Shafiq to the crease to join Azhar Ali and both players started to take the attack to England. Batting a good rate, they soon enough pushed England on the defensive. With a partnership of 111, Shafiq (65) departed in the 23rd over after chopping on a reverse swinging ball of Tim Bresnan.

If 'Evra' there was a time to walk alone, it's now
Dalglish:

“Everyone involved, including the media, the supporters and both teams have a responsibility to ensure this weekend is remembered as a cracking game of football between two very good sides, rather than for anything else.
“I thought everyone involved in the FA Cup tie at Anfield played their part in making sure that the match was played in the right way, so let’s make sure that happens again this weekend.”

“I’m sure people will want to talk about Luis Suarez, but he accepted his ban, served his suspension and returned against Spurs on Monday. It’s time for all of us to draw a line under what happened and move forward.

“People are already speculating on the pre-match ceremony, but from Luis’s point of view we have spoken to him and I know he will shake the hand of Patrice Evra and the other Manchester United players before the game.”

Daryl Harper signals DRS. DRS was innovated mostly for the edges and sorts, but has become a circus for leg before decisions. This is where the Hawk-Eye come’s into effect.Three reds and a batsman is out, one green and his not out. I have no problem with them two aspects, but the third light, the gold one, is a stinker. As I keep emphasising, the DRS was made to eradicate umpire errors, all the umpires call has done is made the umpire look as though he has made the correct call. In the Pakistan, England series we have seen number of decisions that have stayed on the umpires call when they should not have done. Take two identical deliveries, if the umpire says out to one it stays out and not-out to the other that decision also stays. Totally unfair, to say the least. Hawk-Eye is a great innovation, but needs to be used in the correct manner.

The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has taken a stance of complete non-approval of the DRS system. Though as highlighted, it has it’s flaws, the BCCI are not right in their stance. They have not given it a chance. The hawk-Eye is a must in sub-continent conditions. The bounce is low and the batsman can’t leave the ball on length like they would do in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or England. Batter’s have always looked to pad up and play long innings, the DRS stops this. What is the BCCI’s problem? Maybe knowing it doesn’t suit their batsman it might be.

Imy's Gimme: Saqlain Mushtaq slams English conspiracy
In a phone call to a major Pakistan television network, former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq blasted the English media for stiring a propaganda against Saeed Ajmal. Saqlain, the inventor of the doosra, said that the English have started to play mind games as they had no clue how to play Ajmal. Saqlain further suggested that, Sky pundit and former England Fast Bowler, Bob Willis should stay quite and not speak about a art that he has zero knowledge about.

Saqlain urged Ajmal to stay focused on the job in hand and said he believed the mind games will not get to Ajmal. Upon the question if he thought Ajmal threw, he responded that Ajmal has played three World Cups (two Twenty20 and one 50 overs) and many Tests, limited overs games along with County cricket and he was never reported by any umpire. Saqlain also backed the inclusion of two spinners and said he expected Pakistan to put up a good show again.

Akmal, now thats a name that is familiar with Pakistan cricket. I first saw a Akmal play back in 1996, in a Under-15 World Cup Final. Kamran Akmal was the player, a keeper and lower order batsman. He then went on to represent Pakistan for years. Little did I know, as I sat in the stands, this Akmal was the first of a few.

In 2006, then Pakistan head Coach, Bob Woolmer, claimed that Adnan Akmal was the best wicketkeeper in the country. Few could argue with a man, of Woolmer's stature. Apart from being a astute Coach he was a identifier of talent. Despite continuous flaws, Kamran Akmal was persisted with. He played his last Test for Pakistan back in 2010, in 'that' game at Lords.

Zulqarnain Haider was the choice to don the keeping gloves for the South Africa series that followed but on the morning of the 5th ODI, he fled the team. With the Tests still to be played, Pakistan needed a keeper; everyone expected a Akmal to get the nod and it sure was a Akmal. Only difference was it was Adnan rather than Kamran.

Adnan, number 5 out of the 7 brothers, has been a keeping revelation in the last 17 months since he debuted. Unlike, Kamran, he is a natural keeper. His keeping has been top drawer; his made a few errors but keeping against Ajmal is not easy. If the batsman can't pick him then it's largely unfair to expect a Keeper to do so every time.

Ruthless Pakistan thrash England to go one up.‏
Pakistan were in clinical mode has they wrapped up a 10 wicket win against World number one side England in Dubai. Set a paltry 15 runs to win the opener took just 22 balls to wrap up the game as Pakistan went one nil up in the first of three Test matches.

Earlier in the day Adnan Akmal and Umar Gul started proceedings. Gul got out early to Stuart Broad without troubling the scorers as England carried on from where they left of on day two. That brought Saeed Ajmal to the crease and he along with Akmal took the attack to the England bowlers. Extravagant shots were followed by textbook strikes as the two made sure of Pakistan being in the ascendency. Ajmal was given out caught at short leg of the bowling of Swann but there was no visible nick. Ajmal called for a review but was still given out due to lack of evidence to overturn the decision. Akmal continued the onslaught and was out stumped for 61 of Swann but not before he had propelled Pakistan to a lead of 146.

Imy's Gimme: King Ajmal will reign England
Pakistan ace performer, Saeed Ajmal, will be Pakistan's key player in the series starting on Tuesday. Now, already the World number one bowler in ODI cricket; Ajmal has a burning desire to become the best in the business in Test cricket.

Watching a interview he did this week, it was ironic to see how great a person Ajmal is. Totally down to earth, simple but yet so straightforward. He solely credited his selection to Pakistan side to current captain Misbah-ul-Haq. He watched video's of Saqlain Mushtaq and learnt the art of bowling the Doosra. Really, the man from Faislabad is too good to believe.
