romarioThis one, in his opinion, is the best game in the decorated career of Brazilian Legend Romario.

Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona may be the best side in the history of the Catalan Club. Their passing skills along with their game play often scares the opposition and prevent drama or some tough game in the field. But it can’t be said about the Dream Team of 1993-94 season. Loosing against Atletico Madrid earlier in the season, despite of a sensational hat trick from Romario, Cruyff’s Men knew they couldn’t loose any more points. Cruyff once again looked towards Romario for a show stopping performance.

I am a firm believer that ‘There’s always  two sides to a coin’.  So the question lately around the English footie world is ‘Was Suarez rightly banned?’ I intended on giving voice to my thoughts through the site on the subject but discovered that my colleague had already written a piece that would  lead  an uninformed and not so enthusiastic football fan to picture Luis as a racist, over-rated and worthless prick  . But as you might have already guessed I beg to differ .So one may assert  that the article ‘Oh Mr Suarez . Shame!’ is one side to that coin and my perception is the other . I lay down my arguments ! And you be the judge .

Manchester City regained the top spot in the Premier League standings after Manchester United had taken over earlier in the afternoon . It was an exciting and exuberant clash to say the least with all to play for till the very end . Familiar faces , old mates and bragging rights all mixing to produce a spicy affair . City were  the  favourites and they delievered  . Arsenal had their moments and chances but  couldn't take them and paid the price .City coming fresh from a defeat at the hand of Chelsea were relentless to bounce back and in the process put an end to Arsenals eight match undefeated run . David Silva's goal in the 52th minute broke the deadlock an was enough to see City through . Man City dominating possession and shots on target deservingly triumphed . It was no walk in the park Arsenal came ever so close to scoring on  many occasions but one might say 'Luck was not on their side.'

Adriano showed his class by scoring two goals in the contest well supported by goals of young Maxwell and Kieta. Barca will now face Brazilian side Santos in the Club World Cup final on Sunday. United, Carrick, season, Manchester, midfield, Trafford, because, midfielder, Giggs, options, against, passes, being, injury, midfielders, general, years, played, chance, anyoneInjuries are a part of the game. But so many injuries in such a short amount of time? Unthinkable. Every team suffers different kinds of problems. What sets Manchester United apart from them is they seem to overcome any obstacle put in front of them. A player retires? New one is ready. Player injured? Another crops up dying to prove his worth to the cause of Manchester United. The quality of this club is that they never lay down or accept defeat in whatever quest they roll on to. News of Fletcher taking a break from Football. Supporters saying that the likes of Carrick and other’s are not up to Manchester United standard.

Let’s assess United’s midfield options one by one. First up it’s Michael Carrick. The man who everybody loves to hate. Signed from Tottenham for 16.7 Million pounds as a midfield enforcer, Carrick started off brilliantly to his Old Trafford career and everybody loved his laser guided passes and good positioning. However, Year 2009 wasn’t made for him as he consistently struggled to gain a place in the playing Xi with Sir Alex preferring other midfielders in place of him. The sad fact is, Manchester United supporters don’t seem to give a second chance to anyone who does not score goals or excites them in some way. Yes the game Carrick plays now is not much exciting, but if midfielders were signed to be exciting then Sir Alex would have performed thousands of Hairdryer sessions in his reign. Any midfielder Sir Alex has signed has been a proper Central Midfielder. A midfielder who can tackle and pass at the same time. Roy Keane, Bobby Robson and I can name many others. Manchester United don’t like to play with an attacking midfielder like Mario Gotze and other names being brandied around in the press.

The support for Manchester United in Asia and Pakistan in particular has been increasing dramatically over the past few years. With Zong sponsoring Manchester United, there is a new found enthusiasm within the supporters to support United with even more passion than before. Just how much do Social Networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter contribute to that? Let’s take a look at the Pages on Facebook which have been instrumental in letting supporters know about The Biggest Club in England “Manchester United”.

Alot of Manchester United's rival fan's mock United for being "Glory Hunters". This page gives you an answer to that "At least our team gives us reasons to cheer and bask in the glory of our greatness". There is support for other clubs in Pakistan but according to various estimates, nothing beats the support for Manchester United. Nothing dampens their spirit and Manchester United should be proud of having such supporters. I personally, wish them well and will urge you people to have a look at the page.

Barcelona, Madrid, after, Clasico, their, scored, seconds, first, volley, Karim, Benzema, played, deflection, action, Alexis, history, chances, where, Sanchez, nightBarcelona proved that they are the comeback kings when they made a splendid come back after going down 1 goal in 22 seconds to beat archrivals Real Madrid 3-1 reinstating their top position in La Liga.

This was the seventh and final Clasico of 2011 which was played in Real Madrid’s home ground Santiago Bernabeu as hosts took the lead just 22 seconds after the start of played when Karim Benzema scored the fastest goal in Clasico history.

Visitors were back in action in half hour as 24 years old Alexis Sanchez scored in his first league appearance against Real Madrid to take his side back in the game. Xavi’s volley took a big deflection from Marcelo to become a own goal as visitors took lead before Fabregas’ header finished the scoring for night making it 3-1 for Barcelona.

Victory sends Barcelona on top of La Liga table equalizing their points with archrivals but the head-to head record makes them the top team as Real Madrid have one game in hand.

Match started with a surprise for Barcelona as Karim Benzema grabbed the quickest goal in Clasico history in just 22 seconds to send Real Madrid on top. A poor clearance from Victor Valdes led the ball to feet of Angel Di Maria who drilled ball in Penalty area where Sergio Busquets attempted to make a save before Mesut Ozil’s volley rebounded it to Karim Benzema who would never miss a chance from six yards.

A Champions League exit was unthinkable for Manchester United, but the unthinkable became a reality on Wednesday after losing 2-1 at Basel. United went into the game needing only a draw to assure progress but flopped as they missed a couple of glorious chances and lapsed at the back at crucial stages.

Sir Alex Ferguson described the exit and a entry to the Europa Cup as a punishment but on Friday softened his stance saying he was looking to win the sliverware. And why not? A trophy is a trophy and a run the Europa could help United's momentum in the chase of another Premier League title.

Where do United go from here? Is a question asked by many and has different answers from most. Many believe a central midfielder is needed, someone that can take the game from the scruff of the neck and dictate it at his own will. The problem would be finding that player, not many are that quality and even fewer are available.

Here are some of the key points, that United need to do, in my opinion, to help chase arch rivals City:

1. Captain Namanja Vidic is out injured and Rio Ferdinand is prone to get injured. United need to settle a back four. Though Ive never been convinced by Patrice Evra's ability as a defender he will have to show experience at left back. Smalling should be employed as a centre half, in his best position, as soon as one of the Da Silva Twins are back.

Nemanja Vidic - Manchester United v Bursaspor Kulubu - UEFA Champions League

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic is out for the season after rupturing his cruciate knee ligament in the Champions League defeat by Basel on Wednesday.

"He's out for the season." said Alex Ferguson in the news conference."

He sees a specialist on Monday, also to map out the progress of when he has the operation.

"It won't be immediate because we have got to let the swelling come down first of all," The Serbia centre-back was carried off on a stretcher during the 2-1 loss in Switzerland on Wednesday which sent United out of the Champions League at the group stage.

"When you saw the replays you realised it was a bad one," Ferguson added ahead of the Premier League match at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

The 30-year-old Vidic left the St. Jakob-Park stadium on crutches and his agent said on Thursday the defender had "suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament".
