India won the toss and chose to field first in a full house at the Kinrara Oval, Pakistan replied with 286-7 in their 50.
They lost skipper Babar Azam early as he was trapped LBW for 4 by Kalaria but a fine 213 parternship for the 2nd wicket by Sami Aslam and Imam-Ul-Haq was the most significant contribution. Both played superbly well rotating the strike and getting the odd boundary here and there, Aslam continued his good form with a sparkling 121 his century came in 149 balls with 15 fours and a six, Imam-ul-haq missed out on a well deserved hundred when Kalaria dismissed him for 88 wicketkeeper patel just holding it on. Mohammad Nawaz fired in a 28 ball 43 with 3 fours and 2 sixes but was another of 4 victims of Kalaria who was the stand out bowler for India with figures of 4-54 in his 10 overs.
Unmukt Chand at the top of the order gave India a fantastic start with his 49 as the wickets kept occuring India needed a strong partnership and that's exactly what they got when Zol and Nath we're batting but on a day where loads of fielding errors we're made by Pakistan this one wasn't the case as Nath was run out denting India's hopes. Zol got too his century and India required 16 off the last over, Kalaria's cameo off 30 in 16 balls came to an end on the second ball of the last over after he struck a six but Mohammad Nawaz kept calm and made sure Pakistan's result in the end was a win.
Sami Aslam was once again named man of the match in two consecutive games as Pakistan qualified for the semi finals, Pakistan's final group game will be on Tuesday 26th against Malaysia at the Selangor turf club.
