The Prince of Pakistan Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his Dutch partner Rojer Jean-Julien have won the Estoril Open men's doubles title by defeating their Aussie-Spanish opponents Julian Knowle and David Marrero in a close match.
The duo triumphed in a 7-5, 7-5 win. Winning the final bags Aisam/Rojer 250 points in the ATP-250 tournament. The Pakistani-Dutch pair had easily defeated Frenchmen Richard Gasquet and Roger Vasseln 6-3, 6-1 in the semi-final.
This is Aisam's sixth ATP title overall and his first title with Rojer Jean-Julien.
Aisam is currently ranked 14th in the ATP World Tour doubles Rankings but this win will take him past Radek Stepanek to 13th position, just a spot behind his former partner Rohan Bopanna.
Aisam-ul-Haq has to reach the top 10 in the men's doubles rankings till the end of this month in order to qualify for the London Olympics 2012.If he makes it into the top 10 rankings, then he'll be able to choose a partner of his own choice from Pakistan to team-up with at the Olympics.
