Dubai -- Roger Federer beat Andy Murray 7-5, 6-4 on Saturday to win his fifth Dubai Championships title. This was Fedex's 102nd appearance in the final of a tournament .
The two players traded breaks early in the second set before Federer broke decisively to make it 5-4. Murray saved one match point before the Swiss star hit a forehand winner into the corner for the win.
Federer won his 72nd tour-level title, and his second in three weeks having triumphed at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam two weeks ago. The Swiss improved to a 72-30 mark in tour-level finals.
The final was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Patron of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
