Biting a fellow player’s ear during a match
Pulling a fellow player’s hair during a match
Showing the finger to opposing fans during a match
So Mr. Suarez, wasn’t having such a career in which performing all those above mentioned acts enough to feel the need to drop down to a new low? Racism? As your compatriot Gus Poyet has been the first in supporting you and the alleged racist slur you used, did you not know yourself that this is England and there are different rules here? Since the time you have been here. I can’t understand all the hype surrounding your footballing talent either. Scoring goals in a Mickey Mouse league, Do you know you have the worst shot to goal ratio of any striker in the premier league? That includes The Mighty Torres, Heskey comes to mind too. Yes you have a good first touch and you can dazzle most defenses. But is that what is expected of a striker for whom you pay 20million pounds? You don’t assist goals and as I mentioned before, your goal scoring record is not good either. So you really had to go on and make your stay in England more miserable?
In the match against Liverpool, Evra clearly looked incensed. There was something serious bothering him but no one expected such fallout from the game. It emerged that Suarez had brought his ugly side to our own beautiful league. The FA took a long time to decide the case and had told both clubs to stay quiet on the matter. United agreed and respected the decision, Liverpool showed absolutely no class and dragged their heels trying their best to support Suarez. Were they actually supporting Suarez? With all those shirts and disgraceful behavior, they were actually sticking two fingers up to the Football Association and their decisions. They were also, indirectly supporting a Racist, hence also Racism. That behavior was painful to watch and you could not have helped but become more angry at Liverpool’s stance. Match of the day pundit and former Liverpool player Alan Hansen also stoked the flames by labeling some players in the premier league “Coloured players”.
This was already a very sensitive subject but Liverpool just had to go on and worsen it. What is the motive behind such pathetic behavior? Looks like Dalglish found a way to hide his team’s bad form in the premier league by diverting all attention to the shirts and Suarez. Dalglish is so backwards in his thinking that it’s almost astonishing. If your player is found guilty, accept it and move on! If you don’t want to move on at least don’t try to prove it right by constantly embarrassing yourselves in front of millions who are glued to their TV sets trying to watch their favorite teams. Patrice Evra was banned for 4 games a few years ago during an altercation with a ground official against Chelsea. Manchester United accepted, moved on and respected the FA. Even in this situation, both teams were ordered not to speak about it. United never did yet Dalglish felt the need to utter that pathetic line of “We are behind Suarez”. Liverpool are actually bringing the game into disrepute by all this nonsense behavior. Wolves were fined 2 years ago for fielding a second string team, Blackpool were fined last season for doing the same thing against Aston Villa even though they conceded just in the last minute to lose the match. FA said they brought the game into disrepute so here If the FA act within rules, Liverpool can be docked points for doing that and can receive fines too. If you want to appeal against it, appeal but at least show some respect to the oldest Football Association in the world?
All this should not have happened in the first place. I think Evra has every right to appeal against any thing that troubles him but then it is up to the FA to decide what should be done. He did that and hearings took place and the FA rightly so, worked its way through because this ban won’t just stop here. Players will know they can do anything and keep on appealing and showing no respect to the football authorities. I just hope this doesn’t lead into more chaos because as we have it, the English media already loves exaggerating a story beyond sanity. This just gives them more prey to feed on. For football’s sake, I hope Liverpool don’t appeal and just accept that they have one bad apple in their team and they should instead provide counseling. I’m sure that must have cost less than the T shirts they had made for Mr. Luis Racist Suarez.
