Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has been given an early release from his prison sentence for his role in the 2010 Spot-fixing scandal. Salman, who pleaded not guilty, was jailed for 30 months after being found guilty by the UK jury. 

Butt has only served 7 months out of 30 but was granted the early release as the Law states an early release is allowed for foreign prisoners only. Butt has been given deportation orders and will arrive in Lahore at around 3am local time. The deportation also means Butt cannot enter the UK for the next 10 years.
