rogerWhat a parallel of delights in Paris on the 10th

evening of this enthralling French Open. As if

served to order, Novak Djokovic survived his

seventh five-setter in a row and saved four

match points to beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and

book a second Roland Garros semi-final

against Roger Federer, who, simultaneously,

was coming from two sets down to beat the

Argentinian Juan Martín del Potro. And finally

it was our very own superstar Aisam ul Haq

Qureshi who along with Jean-Julien Rojer

ousted  M. Llodra/N. Zimonjic 6-4, 2-1 (ret.)

to set up a meeting with the No.2 seed Bryan

brothers.

Roland Garros 2012 Review: Day 9

Much was being expected from the day-9 of the French Open because of the big matches on card for the day and it equally didn't disappoint the tennis fans.

The World No.2 King of Clay Rafael Nadal was set to face the clay-court specialist Juan Monaco of Argentina on Court Suzanne Lenglen late in the day. The match was highly hyped about and it was being said that it was Rafa's first real test in the Open so far. In the beginning of the match, Juan Monaco displayed some great tennis but it was overshadowed by Rafa's destructive form. Nadal overwhelmed Monaco in the first set 6-2.In the next two sets , it was a totally one-sided affair as Rafa then won 12 straight games  thrashing  Monaco 6-2 6-0 6-0 in 1 hour and 44 minutes. Nadal has not yet dropped a set in the entire red clay court season and has just lost 19 games in the tournament by far (which is a record for Nadal as well at the Roland Garros).

It will be Dav Whatmore's biggest challenge as coach.

Pakistan will do well just to win a test & draw the series.

I rate our test team highly & feel it is the best team possible & the best Pakistan have produced in the last couple of decades, but even then I will not be surprised if they get battered in this test series.

Pakistan have never won a test series in SA.

The last time they were in SA was in 2007 just before the World Cup & they were comprehensively beaten across all formats of the game, but did manage to win a test.
