Group B

TeamPldWDLGFGAGDPts
 Maldives 3 1 2 0 4 2 +2 5
 Nepal 3 1 2 0 3 2 +1 5
 Pakistan 3 0 3 0 1 1 0 3
 Bangladesh 3 0 1 2 1 4 −3 1

Pakistan who faced a do or die dilemna  settled in early into their long ball strategy quite early into the match but this turned out to be once again fruitless. While  Nepal with their crisp , short passing and building from the back were more of a threat on the oppositions goal. A 36th minute volley from the 21 year-old Bharat khawas while the Pakistani's were caught ball watching took Nepal into the lead.Right at the start of the 2nd half, Pakistan had earned a penalty which was converted comprehensively by Samar Ishaq. Pakistan had already been denied a clear penalty in the 17th minute.
Both teams fought hard which also resulted in  two players of either side being strechered off into an ambulance. The match comtinued with both teams having the opportunities to win it - Nepal hitting the post from a set piece and Pakistan's Atif bashir who plays in the Welsh league shooting wide of the goal in the dieing minutes . And that was all , much to the delight of the Nepalese fans who had come in numbers to support their side.

Brazilian Legend Socrates Dies at 57Brazilian legend Socrates Brasileiro Sampaio de Souza Vieira de Oliveira commonly known as Socrates was a wonder for the Brazilian team who was well known for his wonderfully managed long passes and through balls and the technique which made the opposition discuss him in the team meetings for a long time.

Socrates was rushed to hospital on the night of 1st December 2011 for a possible case of food poisoning but was later transferred in ICU as the problem was recognized as a Septic Shock, in which bacteria from an infection seeps into the bloodstream and spreads throughout the body.

It was the third time in four months that he was been treated in ICU since alcohol abuse which caused his stomach to hemorrhage in August. The disease finally became life threatening as he died on Sunday 4th December 2011.

Socrates played for and Captained Brazil in the 1982 World Cup but couldn’t guide his team to victory despite of his marvelous show in the world cup. Socrates was capped 60 times for Brazil between May 1979 and June 1986 and scored 22 goals for his national side.

SAFF, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Football, Khelo, Pakistan, Image, draw, stalemate, zero, goalPakistan and Bangladesh played goal less stalemate in the opening match of SAFF Championship football tournament played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi in a group B match. The man of the match award was handed to Jafar Khan of Pakistan.

According to the press release issued here by Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), Pakistan, who was playing its first match under new coach Zavisa Milosavljevich, put up a decent display but the Green Shirts were wasteful with their chances and their often-threatening tactics on the field were not converted into goals.

Bangladesh coach Nikolai Ilievski preferred to start with his third choice goalkeeper in Sahidul Alam while Pakistan started with their foreign based players in Atif Bashir and Adnan Ahmed. It was Pakistan who had the first shy on goal as Atif Bashir’s attempt saw goalkeeper Alam beaten all ends out as early as in the second minute. Bangladesh looked to play along the ground and build the match from the back. The Tigers did earn a couple of free-kicks in the Pakistan’s half though goalkeeper Jafar Khan was up to the task.
