KheloPakistan.com are proud to present an exclusive interview with young left arm fast bowler; Sadaf Hussain. Sadaf is a 22 year old from Chakwal. He has been a top performer in first class circuit since last 2 years. Amazing thing about Sadaf is his height and seam presentation. Sadaf is 6'3" tall. Sadaf has been close to a Pakistani call-up for sometime, and managed it in 2011's tour to the Caribbean. He didn't manage to get a game, but here talks about his upbringing, that call-up and his career thus far.

KheloPakistan: Before we begin, please tell us about yourself and how you got into cricket?
Sadaf Hussain, left arm bowler with khelopakistanSadaf Hussain: I come from a village near Chakwal, Punjab. As most of the kids around, I started playing tape ball cricket when I was 8 years old. I continued playing tape ball cricket in Chakwal for next few years. Then I alongside the family moved to Rawalpindi, that is where I joined a proper cricket club and started playing hard ball cricket. I excelled at club level and hence was selected to represent Pakistan U-19 team. Played in regional U-19 teams for 2 years, then I 2010, I was lucky enough to get a first class game. But played only 3 games in my first season, next year I performed well and played throughout the season, till then I have been a prominent part of various first class teams.

KP: Was your family co-operative? Did they promote your passion, your talent or like most Pakistani parents they wanted you to focus on your studies alone?
SH: Thankfully my parents have always encouraged my talent; in fact my father is the one who pushed me into playing hard ball cricket at club level. Dad used to tell me that hard ball cricket is the real cricket.

Brett Lee in gymWhether you are in the field for 3 hrs, a whole day or five days in a row, the off field training that you  have done will differentiate you from being ordinary or extra ordinary. Benefits of gym training are multi layered; it provides strength, conditioning & stamina and injury prevention. Metal sharpens metal; to get the best of your abilities you must hit the gym hard, love your time in the gym, only if you are enjoying your time in the gym you will come back day after day to sharpen you skills.

Let’s be smart about it, I am not saying to spend hours & hours in the Gym, whatever your goals are? a trainee doesn’t require more than 60 minutes in the gym. Over dosage of something that is beneficial maybe harmful and when you are playing around with dumbbells the notion “more is better” doesn’t stand true. Spending a lot of time in the gym and doing needless amount of exercises will wreak havoc on you joints & muscles. Right amount of time with high intensity is all you need to reap the benefits of gym training. The key is to keep the Gym sessions short but intensity levels high.

Another point I would like to emphasize upon is that; you must not believe a buffed up muscle freak in the gym to lift huge amounts of weight for long periods of time; most probably because that guy is on anabolic steroids and can lift big and cricket being a member of WADA, you cannot afford this.

Asia Cup 2012: The importance to Pakistan cricket
Posted on behalf of Raafay Awan

Asia Cup starts from the 11th March. According to most people this tournament never got the deserved status it should have and thats kind of true as its always organized at the wrong time. According to Geoffery Boycott no one cares about Asia Cup not even the Asian teams. But is that really true for every participating team.

India have just come back from a long tour of Australia and with IPL just around the corner they would have liked more rest. Sri Lanka were in South Africa and with a gap of few days traveled to Australia for the tri-nation series and played their last match just 2 days ago. Bangladesh are the underdogs and don't have much chances.

But is this isn't just another tournament for Pakistan who have played non stop cricket for the last five months, If at all this tournament is important for a team, its Pakistan. Winning the Test Series against England comprehensively, but losing the ODI and T20 series, Pakistani Team's future depends on this tournament.
