A sensational spell of bowling from Aizaz Cheema and a captain's knock from Misbah-ul-Haq secured Pakistan a tense but well deserved 5 wickets win in the onlyTwenty20 game. Aizaz Cheema picked up 4 wickets for 30 runs as he bowled a quick hostile spell and Misbah coupled a direct hit run-out of Anjelo Mathews and two catches with a unbeaten 38 ball 48. The performances stood out in what was a thrilling game that went into the final over with the game hanging in the balance.

Earlier in the day withSri Lankan captain Tillakaratne Dilshan won the toss and elected to bat in the only Twenty20 game of the tour. The Manatory Poweplay was an Expensive one! Sri Lanka managed to get 63 runs in the first six overs with only two wickets falling. The fielding by Pakistan, in the beginning, was lazy today with Pakistan leaving Some pretty easy catches but then some agile fielding brought Pakistan back and in the end they failed to put Cheema away. The under-pressure Tillakaratne Dilshan was on his way with a smack through the covers while Upul Tharanga thrashed Umar Gul for two fours through the off side, one of them over the in-field. Aizaz Cheema ended Tharanga's stay, beating him for pace with an inswinger, but was taken out of the attack after being struck for two fours, lofted over mid-on by Dilshan and creamed past point by Dinesh Chandimal, who guided the rest of the innings.

History of Pakistan cricket is full with unmatched players. Pakistan have produced some such talented and legendary cricketers, whose replacement could never be found. Production of such great players hasn't stopped yet. In current time too, Pakistan cricket team is having some great players. Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq and Younis Khan are among the world's best cricketers.

Along with these players, one of the name is of Muhammad Hafeez too. Yes! Right arm all-rounder spin bowler is one of the best cricketers of current cricket age. The man has the capability of making runs and as well as of stopping runs, with his off spin bowling.
31 years 39 days old, Muhammad Hafeez, was born on October 17, 1980 in Sargodha, Punjab. He used to play for SNGPL and Faisalabad Wolves. Muhammad Hafeez has played 87 ODIs and has scored 2265 runs with an average of 27.28. Along with this, Hafeez has taken 71 wickets with an average of 33.08. His best batting figure is 139*, whereas best bowling figure of 3/17. Muhammad Hafeez has also scored 3 centuries and 12 half-centuries in his career.

The debate of Misbah-ul-Haq playing in the Pakistan ODI team is up for debate all the time. Many fans believe he is not good enough to be in the team, let alone captain it. Here is a KheloPakistan special by two authors on their views on the problem that is Misbah-ul-Haq.

Following are two different views:

A Missed Opportunity For PakistanTim Holt

If you were to look at Pakistan in all forms of the game, you would come to the conclusion that your are viewing two sides of a two headed coin with the figure head predominating for different reasons.

Misbah Ul Haq, the man who polarises approval or equally disapproval from the fans is of course that main feature for Pakistan.

For all the balance and functionality he fosters for the team in the Test arena, the same cannot be said for him in the shorter forms of the game. He is still the same statesman type leader, but his tactical know how and man management are respected but not as coveted as his play.

Best captain since the great Imran KhanImran Asghar
I have read alot on Misbah and his role as both a player and captain of Pakistan. Misbah was appointed Test captain after the England debacle last year when one captain reitred halfway through the Australia series and the other was caught as a spot-fixing cheat. When Misbah was announced as the new captain there was major uproar and most people, me included, where outraged at a guy who was not in the team to be named as the skipper. Ex Pakistan coach Geoff Lawson at the time said Misbah had the greatest cricketing brain he had worked with and believed MuH would be a great captain. What has unfolded in the last 15 months as been nothing short of sensational. His place in the Test team and as skipper is not open to debate.
If you include all player stats, MuH has scored the 8th most runs in 2011 in World cricket in 2011. From any player scoring 800 plus runs in 2011 he has the 5th best average. Kumar Sangakarra has scored his 1127 runs at a strike rate of 73, is he a poor player?

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have both played 6 T20 matches against each other.

Pakistan winning 4 of them & Sri Lanka 2.

The last time both teams faced off in Cricket's shortest format of the game was in Colombo two months after Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets at Lords in the 2009 T20 World Cup Final. It was their Pakistan's match as the World Champions. Pakistan won the game thanks to a great half century by then T20 Skipper Shahid Afridi. Sri Lanka couldn't handle Pakistan's bowling attack and lost by a 52 run margin.

A World Class T20 bowler Umar Gul has 10 wickets in 5 matches against Sri Lanka and as always the spearhead of Pakistan will be the bowler to watch out for.

Another Wonderful T20 bowler, Limited over formats of the game Spearhead for Sri Lanka has played 4 matches against Pakistan with 7 wickets to his name. His sling arm action is going to prove vital if Sri Lanka are to win a Series on this tour, Better watch out for Lasith Malinga.

The latest ICC Players Rankings for the different formats of Cricket were announnced yesterday, and much to the delight of the Cricket Loving Pakistani Nation, three Pakistani bowlers were placed in the top ten by the ICC. Bowling is a department that has been the main cause of Pakistan's consitent performance over the last 18 months. Its not that previously our Bowling was found wanting, but its about changing trends. Through out the last 3 decades Fast Bowlers were the more deadly weapons, but now trend has changed and the three bowlers that find temselves in Top Ten are all spinners. The most pleasing thing is that the talented and ever improving Off spinner Saeed Ajmal tops the rankings, it is indeed an honour for the nation and a thing to be proud of for Ajmal as he is the first Pakistani to top the lists in a long time and secondly he faced stiff competition from the likes of Dale Steyn, Daniel Vettori and Mitchell Johnson. Ajmal has improved every time he has bowled apart from the ICC World T20 Semi final against Australia he has always delivered when required.

Darling of Pakistani crowd BOOM BOOM Shahid Afridi is listed as the 7th best ODI Bowler, Afridi has been consistent with his bowling right through out since the last 4 years with the ball, but 2011 has been a memorable year for him as he has picked up 40 wickets this year and still has three more ODI'S to play this year.

It was the first match the Champions at the time we're facing and won the game thanks to a great half century by then T20 Skipper Shahid Afridi. Former Captain Shoaib Malik has 184 runs against Sri Lanka in all 6 matches against the Lankan Lions, at an average of 46 and a best of 57 might be out of form but he will be a player to watch out for.

Key Players:

Pakistan
Shahid Afridi: If T20 cricket was invented before the birth of Shahid Afridi, many would have believed the charasmatic Pakistani was born to play this format.

Sri Lanka
Ajhanta Mendis: The number one bowler in T20 cricket is expected to play a big role. The Sri Lankans will hope he can make a difference.
