In this day and age when Heavyweight Boxing is looking for a inspiration and a true world champion, it has lost a true great. After being diagnosed with Liver Cancer in late September, this year, Joe Frazier has lost his fight as he passed away in hospital.

Smokin Joe, as he was so lovingly called, won the Olympic Gold medal in 1964 and duly took up professional boxing. He beat Muhammad Ali in 1971, which was named 'the fight of the century' before losing his first fight against George Foreman two years later to lose his world title. He then went on to beat Joe Bugner before losing a rematch against Ali.

He then had a shot at the world title against Ali in 1975, which he lost and then retired the next year after being beaten by Foreman.

A record of 37 fights, 32 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses (against Ali and Foreman) show's how good a fighter he was. A boxer, if fighting in this era, would dominate the world stage. Smokin Joe will forever be missed.

Its pretty clear that the win has very less significance , India has to tour Australia latter this year and playing on low and slow wickets before leaving for Australia defies logic . The management needs to make sure that the next two matches are played on bouncy wickets , west indies has some quick bowlers in its squad who will help the Indian batsmen with much needed practice before the Aus tour. ..Ravi Chandran Ashwin has proved that he can not only be a matchwinner in the Limited-over format , but also in tests. The success of the the spinners augurs well for the future.

Amir, Asif and Salman, who once had the Cricket world down on their knees found themselves trapped and caught for a crime otherwise committed by every other cricketing nation. As rightly pointed out by Junoon's Salman Ahmed on Twitter 'Pakistan players are small fry in context of $500bn (500,000,000,000) illegal market'. The figures are: 2,500 pounds for Amir, 10,000 for Butt and 65,000 for Asif (Total $ 123,500/-) . All in all they share 0.00002% of the total corruption for which they have already been reprimanded and they are serving imprisonment. So what about the other sports-criminals at lose? Pakistani sportsmen are already under strict scrutiny after the spot-fixing saga, which will eventully help promote honest and fair Sports in the country.
