mohsin_KPI am surprised, not really. And nobody shouldn’t be surprised about it, too. I have an alarming and being a passionate cricketing fan of Pakistan cricket a heartbreaking question. For how long these recommendations will continue to make Pakistan cricket suffer and to take it to a place from where it will be either hard or even impossible to recover? This is not just what I think, it is a fact that vibrates with the heart beat of every Pakistani cricket fan.

The way PCB is running Cricketing Operations in Pakistan and its treatment with the upcoming cricketing talent is heart breaking for any cricket fan. In all cricket playing nations, it is a normal practice to choose the top performers to let them represent their nation.

Lionel Andres Messi, Also known as “Leo”, is not just a Football player but a Messiah, a born genius, a man that’s capable of changing any game, against anyone, at any point. Messi, born 24th June 1987 to a working class family in Argentina. When Leo started to play for his local club at the age of 5, little did his father know how far his son would go.

Messi suffered from growth problems, and at the age of 11 was diagnosed with Growth Hormone Deficiency, he was at the time being trailed by star team River Plate but they cold not afford his medical bills, which were high as $900 a month at the time. The world famous Barcelona academy was alerted to his talent and offered to take on all medical bills, if Leo moved to Catalonia and join the Barca Academy. Messi, along with his father moved and unfolded a fairy tale story.

Between 2000-2003 Messi represented the junior team at Barca and scored 37 goals in 30 games for the A team in junior level. By the following season he represented the Barca “C” and then “B” teams, he scored 5 goals for the C team in 8 games and then went on to not to score for the B team in as many games. Was this Leo’s level? Had he reached his peak? Within a year of that, Messi played in his league debut against local rivals Espanyol, aged just 17, Later on that 2004-2005 season Messi scored against Albacete, which was going to be a first of many goals for the “The Little Master”.

Spurs Croatian Sensations Modric and Kranjcar

In 1978 the then Tottenham Hotspurs Manager Keith Burkinshaw indulged in what was a brave move at the time by investing in two Agentinian stars in Ozzie Ardiles and Ricky Villa. The risk being that foreign players traditionally struggled with the unique English game.Plus the lack of English for the two players was seen as a huge drawback.

The Pakistan born South African will be a key part of South Africa’s plans against Australia, Sri Lanka and New Zealand in the forthcoming season.

Considered by many experts and pundits as the best leg spinner in the world which I would no doubt agree with. It’s an exceptional circumstance with him as he was unable to play on the international scene due to problems with qualification, changing citizenship as well as being over looked back home in the sub continent too unfairly in many ways.

Tamper_KPIt’s probably one of the worst kept secrets in cricket that ball-tampering is a common practice. From small-time club cricketers to the International arena, it happens all the time. Many high profile names have admitted to have ‘altered’ the ball in one way or another. Firstly let’s look at the cricketing law, in regards of, Ball Tampering.

Under Law 42, subsection 3 of the Laws of Cricket, the ball may be polished without the use of an artificial substance, may be dried with a towel if it is wet, and have mud removed from it under supervision; all other actions which alter the condition of the ball are illegal. These are usually taken to include rubbing the ball on the ground, scuffing with a fingernail or other sharp object, or tampering with the seam of the ball.

The battle between the Asian Rivals

Sri Lanka have not won a single test in their last 9 played whereas the green shirts have won 4 in the same period of time. Sri Lanka have had 7 draws in that period of time, however they have lost 2 series during the process against England away and playing host to Australia at home which concluded on the 20th of September.

Both teams have only lost 2 in their last 9 and drawn a series against the West Indies during the year. Dilshan and Misbah both have led their side for only 12 tests between them. Sri Lanka have a higher standing on the rankings, but Pakistan go into this series as the more in form and prepared with an undefeated record in their last 4 test series and back to back wins currently for the first time since 2005. In 37 tests against Pakistan Sri Lanka have won the 9 with 13 draws.

The last time these two sides met in a test series was in the summer of 2009 where Sri Lanka won 2/0 in a 3 match series. Earlier during the same year Pakistan's home hosted series was interrupted as a result of the terrorist attacks.
