Barring a successful appeal, England's main man Wayne Rooney looks set to miss the group stages of the European Championships next year. Yet is he deserving of a place on the plane to Poland and Ukraine at all?

Since his sending off against Montenegro and the three match ban that resulted from it, there has been much debate on whether England manager Fabio Capello should take his star striker Wayne Rooney to the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine next year.

West Indies beat Bangladesh in the 2nd one-dayer by 8 wickets and won the series too.

The match was played at Mirpur, Bangladesh. After losing 3 wickets at the score of only 1, it seemed as Bangladesh could not even score 150 runs. But a responsible batting from the middle-orders and tail enders led their side to reach 220. But the target of 221 was easily achieved by West Indies. Man of the match Marlon Samuels scored 88* runs.

3rd and the last ODI will be played on 18th october at Chittagong.

-Zaka Ashraf replaces Mr Butt as the chairman of the PCB. Ijaz Butt considers the eradication of player power to be his leading achievement. His replacement has affiliations with ZTBL.

-Shahid’s “conditional retirement” only lasted 5 one dayers and 2 T20s against Ireland and Zimbabwe. It’s hardly as if he missed anything major.....

Misbah and Rehman are named in the test team of the year in the annual awards of a leading sporting publication. The former more specifically is even the overseas player of the year. Legendary Hanif, the father of Pakistan Cricket

Hanif Mohammad's 337: 970 minute stay at the wicket for 337 against West Indies following on with a deficit of over 450.

The 'little master' batted for over 16 hours to save the match from a highly unlikely position.

The longest ever stay at the crease in test history, batting for effectively 2.5 days.

A demonstration of a watertight defence, immaculate concentration and admirable stamina.

A knock full of character and spirit.

Pakistani players have been once again ignored by the Indian Premier League (IPL) meaning there will be no Pakistani cricketers in the next season of the Twenty20 league. It is the third time in a row that the IPL has avoided cricketers from the neighbouring country.

IPL's newly appointed chairman Rajiv Shukla had said that it will be up to the franchises to take a decision on Pakistan players whether to buy them or not. “Their (Pakistani) referees’ services have been utilized. Some franchises have taken Pakistani former players as coaches also and supporting staff as well. So it is not that Pakistan as a whole has been banned or something. There is no question of banning anyone.”
